How to Add a Bill of Material Basefile in AMD

Bill of Material

This Basefile is used to build a list of Bill of Materials.

Adding New Bills of Material

  1. Select Basefiles on the AMD Index page

  1. Select the Bills of Materials tab.
  2. Select the Add button.
  1. Capture the Bill of Material Name.
  2. Capture the Description.
  3. Select Save.


 Editing and Deleting existing Bills of Material

  1. Select the Bills of Materials record that you wish to update. The row will be highlighted to indicate its selection.
  2. Select the Edit or Delete button.
  1. If delete is selected, the user will be requested to confirm the deletion action. Click delete and the record will be removed from the grid. If the action was by mistake, click cancel. Note that the corresponding part list will also be deleted if it is not linked.
  2. If Edit is selected, the same screen where the new bill of material was captured will reappear for the user to update the bill of material information.
  3. Once done click Save.
  1. Select a Bill of Material that you wish to link the part to. At the bottom of the screen the parts grid will be displayed.
  2. Click Add.
  1. Select the part that you wish to add from the dropdown.
  2. Capture the Quantity.
  3. Click Save. 


  1. The parts linked to the Bill of Material will now be displayed on the parts grid as illustrated below.

  1. Select the Bill of Material to view the Part List.

  1. Select the part that you wish to update. The selected row will be highlighted to indicate its selection.
  2. Click the Edit or Delete button.
  1. If delete is selected, the user must confirm the deletion action. Click delete and the part record will be removed from the parts grid. If this action is a mistake click cancel. 



  1. If Edit is selected, the same screen where the part was linked to the Bill of Material will reappear for the user to edit the part information.
  2. Click Save.
