How to Add a Location Type Basefile in AMD
Location Types
This base file is used to define the organizations Locations and asset hierarchy. ACTOR supports the ISO 14224 standard for taxonomy and asset hierarchy, but it is not required to use the standard, other configurations can also be created or imported.
The basefile is also used to define the level at which an ACAP analysis can be conducted. This basefile also allows users to define which locations/assets must be displayed on the ACES roll-up report.
Adding a new Location Type
- Select Base files from the AMD module.
- Select the Location Types tab.
- Select the Add button.
- Capture the Location Type Name.
- Select Parent Name.
- Click Create.
Editing and Deleting an existing Location Type
- Select a location type record that you wish to update from the grid. The selected row will be highlighted to indicate its selection.
- Select the Edit or Delete button.
- If Delete is selected, the user will be requested to confirm the delete action. Click delete to continue and the Location type record will be removed from the grid. If this action was a mistake click cancel.
- If Edit is selected, the same screen that appeared when a new Location Type was added will reappear for the user to edit the Location type details.
- Once complete click Save.
Defining the Levels for an ACAP Analysis
We have to define the levels at which an ACAP analysis can be performed. This is because it would not make sense to conduct an ACAP analysis at organizational level for example, and also in in the ACAP module the risk score can be rolled up or down to Parent or children assets depending on the facilitator. Therefore, it would not make sense to have a risk score for an organization.
- To set the levels for an ACAP analysis, check the relevant boxes as illustrated below:
Defining the Levels for ACES Roll-Up Report
This functionality was introduced for the convenience of the user to only display Locations/Assets in the ACES Roll-Up Report that the user would have defined in AMD instead of having a long report with locations/assets that were not relevant to the ACES Analysis.
- To set the levels, check the relevant boxes as illustrated below.
