How to add a location in AMD

Location Structure

The Asset Management Data (AMD) module is a centralized platform for asset hierarchy and asset parts that are used across all ACTOR modules. The business needs asset data which has been set up as a multi-dimensional object relationship model to:

  1. Assist in the management of organizational assets throughout their lifecycle to determine life cycle costs
  2.  To determine root cause of any failure and/or outage and to complete historical trending

  3. To search across similar assets

ACTOR allows the location/asset hierarchy to be imported from an external CMMS or added individually.

Adding an individual Location
  1. On the ACTOR Index page, navigate to the AMD module and select the Location Structure as illustrated below.

  1. Capture the Location ID
  2. Capture the Description
  3. Capture the Quantity
  4. Ensure that the Location is linked to a parent Location ID
  5. Select the Location Type
  6. Select the Asset Class
  7. Select the Asset Type
  8. Capture the Asset Priority and Relative Risk score. If the Location already exists on the Location tree and an ACAP analysis was performed on it, the Asset Priority and Relative Risk score will automatically be populated.
  9. Click Save. You have successfully added a location.
