How to Add a Parts Basefile in AMD

 Asset Parts

This Base File is used to register part numbers for specific assets used during spares policy optimization.

Adding new Parts

  1. Select Base Files from the Index page.
  1. Select the Parts tab.
  1. Select Add button as illustrated above and a pop-up window will appear for the user to capture the part details.
  2. Enter Part No.
  3. Capture the Description.
  4. Select the Issue Unit.
  5. Select Asset Tag.
  6. Select the Supplier and the Alternate Supplier if applicable.
  7. Select the Manufacturer from the dropdown.
  8. Capture the Purchase Cost.
  9. Capture the Part Details.
  10. Capture the Lead Time.
  11. Select the Lead Time UOM.
  12. Click Save.

Editing and Deleting Existing Parts

  1. Select the Part on the grid that you wish to update. The selected row will be highlighted to indicate its selection.


  1. Select the Edit or Delete button.
  2. If delete is selected, the user will be requested to confirm the deletion action. Click delete and the record will be removed from the grid. If delete was selected by mistake select Cancel.

  1. If Edit is selected, the same screen that appeared when the new part data was captured will reappear for the user to edit the part information.
  2. Once updated select Save.
